On the morning of March 9th, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine, a symbol of the nuclear disaster in human history, stopped transmitting data to the International Atomic Energy Agency. In the afternoon, Energoatom, the state-run National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine, said that the Chernobyl NPP was disconnected from the power grid.
