Recently, the name “Eileen Gu” has become one of the top searches on Chinese social media. As she helped and represented the CCP to compete in the Winter Olympics Games, it gave her about $42 million worth of CCP-owned brand endorsement. Gu has endorsed a long list of Chinese domestic products, including Bank of China, China Mobile, and the e-retailer JD.com. The CCP even affectionately calls her the “Snow Princess.” However, It was found that Eileen Gu was born and raised in the United States and she changed her name to Gu Ailing before competing in the Olympics.
