On May 24, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Hong Kong Communist Party (HKCP) governments announced measures to tighten control over Tiananmen Square in Beijing and Victoria Park in Hong Kong, citing the CCP Virus pandemic as the cause of concern.

The Chinese Communist regime announced that the same-day reservation service for visiting Tiananmen Square is cancelled for the timeframe from May 25 to June 15; all visitors are required to make reservations at least one day in advance and provide a green-status “Beijing health code” along with a proof of negative nucleic acid done within 48 hours.

The Hong Kong regime, which is the puppet government of the CCP, has decisively ordered that Victoria Park be banned from public rental on June 4, all together. The June 4th Candlelight Vigil at Victoria Park is known to be a tradition and an honorable annual event to commemorate the victims of the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989, when a large number of students and civilians were killed by PLA with guns and tanks.

The event has long been the target of crackdowns by the Hongkong Communist puppet government. As 2022 marks the second year of its National Security Law, and with the rising international sentiment against the CCP, the Beijing government will take it more seriously, will censor and crack down on any activities sympathetic to the pro-democracy movement. Using the Pandemic as an excuse only demonstrates the CCP is becoming more fearful.
