The Epoch Times reported on May 27, 2022, that an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in central Sydney, Australia, has resulted in five patients being hospitalized. (Note: Nearly 90% of people over the age of 16 in NSW, Australia have been fully vaccinated against COVID.)

Australian health officials are warning anyone who has been in central Sydney in the last 10 days to be mindful of their health conditions. In addition, there have been many cases of Legionnaires’ disease in other parts of Sydney.

Symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease can appear within 10 days of exposure to contaminated water particles in the air, with symptoms very similar to those of COVID. Mainly fever, chills, cough, and shortness of breath, but can also lead to severe chest infections such as pneumonia. However, Legionnaires’ disease does not transmit from person to person.

Legionnaires’ disease is diagnosed by taking a chest X-ray examination and urine test. Patients are usually treated with antibiotics.
