Canada has raised nearly $100 million worth of weapons and equipment for Ukraine as part of the federal government’s $500 million military aid budget for 2022, making it the largest military aid donation to Ukraine, CBC News reported on May 24.

The defense minister said on the same day that the supplies of this aid mainly included 20,000 155mm artillery shells.  Canada delivered four M-777 howitzers and other firearms and ammunition to Ukraine last month.  Among them, the number of donated M-777 howitzers accounted for 10% of the Canadian army reserves.

In addition, 10% of the federal government’s $500 million donation program launched earlier this month will be used to purchase high-resolution satellite imagery, drone cameras and ammunition, among other things.
