According to CTV News reported on May 21, the Public Health Agency of Canada announced on the same day that a total of 10 children in the country had recently been diagnosed with severe acute hepatitis caused by an “unknown hepatitis virus”.
It is reported that all of these sick children between the ages of 1 and 13, distributed in Alberta, Manitoba, Quebec and Ontario, etc., two of the patients required liver transplants, and none of these cases were known to be caused by the known hepatitis virus.
At present, the Health Agency is also retrospectively investigating previous case data to try to find the cause of these severe acute hepatitis. It is also recommended that if you find your child has symptoms such as yellowing of the skin and eyes, abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite and fever, they should seek immediate medical examination.
