According to a report, an agreement had been signed between the military and the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST), in order to design the system after the Communist China’s companies dominate the global small drone (UAV) market. Defense analysts say that military bases will inevitably face the threat of drones in case of armed conflict.

The Defense Department’s 2022 budget stated the significance of defending military bases, ports, airports, outlying islands, missile bases and other military sites from drone strikes.

The Air Force will be responsible for defense programs with the Navy spending fund between year 2022 and year 2023, as well as the Air Force and Army spending fund from 2022 to 2026. The Ministry of National Defense signed an agreement for NCSIT to build an anti-drone system.
