“In the 21st century, cyber security is national security”. Canadian Minister of Public Safety, Marco Mendicino, announced on Thursday, May 19, 2021, “our government conducted an extensive, thorough security examination of 5G wireless telecommunication technologies, including those service providers who represent a high risk to the integrity of our telecommunication sectors.”

“Today, we are announcing our intention to prohibit the inclusion of Huawei and ZTE products and services in Canada’s telecommunication systems. This follows a full review of our security agency and consultation with our closest allies,” announced by Canadian Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne.
