From Apr 20 to 27, more than 4.49 million new cases of CCP virus were recorded worldwide excluding Communist China, representing an 8.2% decline from 4.89 million new cases last week. In addition, there were 20,522 new deaths reported this week, representing a 13.6% increase from18,073 deaths last week. The number of global new cases maintained its downward trend, whereas the number of global new deaths showed a positive growth.

On Apr 21, a team of German researchers published their findings in the Journal of Hepatology, the official journal of the European Association for the Study of the Liver. The study provided an in-depth analysis of a patient diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis after receiving the Pfizer’s CCP virus vaccine. It is reported that the 52-year-old patient with no remarkable medical history developed different degrees of hepatic injury each time after receiving Pfizer vaccine, which the researchers identified as the cause of autoimmune hepatitis through hepatic tissue biopsy and flow cytometry analysis.

As of Apr 27, a total of 8.37 billion doses of the CCP virus vaccine were administered worldwide, excluding Communist China, an increase of 0.6% from the data reported on Apr 20. The global vaccination against CCP virus has been stable, with the average growth rate below 1% for eight consecutive weeks.

On Apr 25, the University of Washington developed a new CCP virus vaccine called GPB510, which the South Korean government has agreed to buy 10 million doses of. GPB510, which was not an mRNA vaccine, integrated a key fragment of the CCP virus Spike protein onto the nanoparticles.

On Apr 26, Pfizer submitted an application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency use authorization of a booster dose of CCP virus vaccine for children aged 5 to 11.

On Apr 28, Moderna formally applied and asked the FDA to authorize its CCP virus vaccine for children under 6. However, according to informed sources, Moderna hasn’t sent final datasets to the FDA and found it almost impossible to submit the data before May 4.

On Apr 26, a veterinary epidemiologist at Ohio State University found that hundreds of white-tailed deer in North America had tested positive for the CCP virus, and the reasons for their infections remained unknown.

According to a new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of this February, nearly 60% of Americans were estimated to have been infected with the CCP virus, and almost 75% of kids aged 17 and below had antibodies from a previous infection.
