“A substantial portion of the grain stolen from Ukraine is on dry cargo ships under Russian flag in the Mediterranean,” the intelligence department claimed. It was believed that the most likely destination is Syria, from where grain was smuggled to other Middle Eastern countries.

The department added that Russia continues to transport stolen food to the territory of the Russian Federation and the occupied Crimea peninsula.

In the Zaporizhzhia province of southern Ukraine, a main grain-producing region, grain and sunflower seeds were prepared to be sent to Russia.

According to the intelligence department, a column of Russian vehicles, under the protection of the Russian army, departed from the town of Enerhodar in the Zaporizhzhia region to its final destination, Crimea.

Grain was also reportedly stolen in the northeastern province of Kharkiv, and another 1,500 tons of grain was transported to Crimea from Mala Lepetykha village in the Kherson region.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced last week that over half a million tons of Ukrainian grain had been stolen by Russians.
