The international luxury brand Gucci will accept cryptocurrency payments at five of its U.S. stores from the end of this month. Gucci also plans to expand to all North American stores this summer. This move shows their recognition for cryptocurrencies.
According to Vogue Business, Gucci plans to accept 10 cryptocurrencies, including: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Litecoin, and five other stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar, as one of the payment methods for in-store transactions.
In-store crypto payments will be made via a link emailed to customers; the link contains a QR code that allows them to pay with a crypto wallet.
The first Gucci stores to accept cryptocurrency are locations on Wooster Street in New York, Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, the Miami Design District, Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, and Crystals in Las Vegas.
This March, another luxury brand, Off-White, also announced that its flagship stores in Paris, London and Milan began to accept cryptocurrency payments, including: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance, Ripple, USDT and other USD based stablecoins.
