In the World Press Freedom Index 2022, released on May 3, Communist China ranked 175th out of 180 countries, sixth to last.

“The World Press Freedom Index (WPFI)” is a ranking of assessing states’ press freedom, intending to reflect the degree of freedom that journalists, news organizations, and netizens have in those countries and the level of protection provided authorities for the freedom.

Communist China has been near the bottom of the World Press Freedom Index for over 20 years, assessed as “not free” for “press freedom.” In addition, the ranking list shows countries that Miles Guo deems the “New Axis of Evil” standing with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) all sit in the back row, with Iran ranking 178th, North Korea ranking 180th, Myanmar ranking 176th, and Russia ranking 155th for its manipulation of the media. Regrettably, Hong Kong slipped 68 places to 148th this year after the CCP has adopted a national security law that suppresses press freedom there, infinitely close to Communist China, no longer a free port.
