According to Apollo News on May 7, Chinese military planes once again made a significant incursion into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone. It was the second largest single-day intrusion this year, with a total of 18 aircraft. Taiwan has taken off with its own military aircrafts and issued warnings. Taiwan has deployed anti-aircraft missile systems to track PLA planes.
Taiwan lives under the threat of invasion by the Chinese Communist Party, which believes Taiwan is part of Chinese territory and will one day be retaken, by force if necessary. Since September 2020, Taiwan has been reporting figures of such PLA military aircraft. Since the beginning of this year, the number of PLA air incursions into Taiwan’s air defense zone exceeded 370. On January 23, there were 39 PLA military aircraft that entered Taiwan’s air defense zone.
On the same day, Japanese Senator Kenkazu Suzuki also emphasized in a question-and-answer session that “if something happens to Taiwan, something happens to Japan”, and stability in the Taiwan Strait is very important to the Asia-Pacific region. U.S. Congressman Mark Green pointed out in an interview that if the Chinese Communist Party persists in invading Taiwan, it will be stepping on its own toes, as the world will be more united in helping Taiwan.
