Bodies of civilians were found on the streets of Bucha after the Russian troops retreated. Russia claimed that is not true. Now, new images of a satellite show the opposite.
The Russian Defense Ministry had described the images as “fakes”. Accordingly, the bodies had not yet been there when the Russian forces withdrew on March 30. However, Maxar satellite images from March 19 and 21 show that several bodies were already on Yablonska Street in Bucha at that time.

The corpses can be seen on the satellite images.

US satellite images released on Monday confirmed that some of the bodies found in the Kyiv suburb of Bucha were already lying there before the withdrawal of Russian troops. The “high-resolution” images “confirm the latest videos and photos on social media showing bodies that have been lying on the street for weeks,” said a spokesman for the US satellite imagery company Maxar Technologies.
Satellite images of a road in Bucha in mid-March show several bodies of suspected civilians lying on or off the roadway. At this point, Ukrainian officials had found several bodies after the withdrawal of Russian troops in early April. AFP photographers had seen around 20 bodies in civilian clothes during a visit last Saturday – some of them with their hands the opposite.
