A company specializing building what is understood to be the only space-based mobile phone network, AST Space Mobile, has signed a multi-launch agreement with Elon Musk’s SpaceX. They want to put 170 satellites into low orbit to create a space-based cellular broadband network for the 5 billion mobile phone users who don’t have permanent terrestrial coverage.

The business has now revealed it hopes to launch the BlueWalker 3 satellite – which can communicate directly with mobile phones using standard frequencies – on a Falcon 9 SpaceX vehicle from Cape Canaveral this summer. And it will launch BlueBird satellites in the future.

Those satellites could provide the main mobile signal for areas with limited or no wireless and mobile infrastructure and fill in gaps in somewhere existing mobile signals drop out. The emerging communication technology based on space network will not only rewrite the existing mobile communication system, but also eliminate the network firewalls of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and other dictatorship regimes that deceive people.
