In a report by Breitbart on November 1st, 2021, it states that since the NBA star Enes Kanter began to fight against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with a video in support of the Tibetan independence movement last month, he has launched a campaign against the CCP’s ongoing human rights atrocities – including genocidal acts against several ethnic minority groups, breaking convention in the typically pro-China National Basketball Association (NBA).

Mr. Kanter joined Uyghur, Tibetan, and other groups in Washington, DC. Last Sunday October 31st, he participated in a protest with a group of hundreds of activists against the Chinese Communist Party in the capital. He urged Congress to “act against companies importing goods made in Chinese concentration camps and to pass the Uyghur Forced Labor Protection Act and take tangible steps to end slavery and save lives.”

Before Mr. Kanter spoke against the Chinese regime, there was only one other player – Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert, who had spoken publicly against the genocide of Uyghur Muslims in Communist China. Almost no other NBA players have taken a similar stand.

Just as Kanter said, “As an NBA athlete, it is saddening, disgraceful, disgusting to see them remain silent about China. We need action. Not just words. We have to make human rights a priority in both U.S. and foreign policies.” So far, the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate has passed the bill, but Democrats in the House of Representatives have not moved to pass it.
