Reported from CNBC on October 10th, 2021, Southwest Airlines canceled more than 1,800 flights this weekend, blaming bad weather, air traffic control and staff shortage. Two days before, noted by Breitbart, the Southwest pilots union asked a federal judge to block the company’s vaccine mandate for COVID-19.

Nevertheless, not only no air traffic staffing shortages have been reported to the FAA since Friday, a meteorologist also claimed that severe weather that could have caused massive flight delays was not witnessed over the weekend.

At the time when the pilot union filed the lawsuit against Southwest Airlines’ new policy, claiming it is a clear violation, the company stood firmly on its own ground rejecting negotiation over any Covid-related changes.

Despite the peculiar timing of the cancelations, the pilots were not participating in a massive strike, according to the union.
