Just for the last two or three months in 2021, five senior government officials have taken their lives.

According to the CCP media reports, late on August 27, the former Finance Minister Jin Renqing’s balcony was on fire, firefighters put out the fire in the early hours of the 28th. Officially reported that the fire was a pile of books on the balcony, a burning area of 2 square meters. Jin Renqing suffered severe burns on the balcony and died after being taken to the hospital, aged 77. In fact, he set himself on fire.

On August 5, Beijing time, Shanghai Electric announced that Huang Qi, the company’s executive director and president, had passed away on the same day. There is online news that Huang Qi suspected of jumping to suicide. More than two months ago, Shanghai Electric Financial plunging, chairman Zheng Jianhua suspected severe disciplinary violations at the end of July.

Zhang Zhijian, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Harbin University of Engineering and vice-chancellor of the Harbin University of Engineering in China, jumped to his death on June 17, Beijing time, the university’s official microblog confirmed.

The recent incident caused the death of 21 runners due to “local weather changes”, which is a mountain marathon 100km cross-country race held at the end of May in Jingtai County, Silver City, Gansu Province, China. As the event unfolded, it triggered a cry of accountability. On 10th June, China Mainland media reported that Li Zuojun, secretary of the Jingtai Country Party Committee, had jumped from his home on 9th June at the age of 57.

Referring to 19th May XINHUA Media, Li Xiaoqiu, a party group member and deputy director of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, committed suicide for an unknown reason.

In October 2017, The Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, a Hong Kong human rights organization, pointed out that the number of official suicides at or above the deputy level rose from 1,500 in 2015 to 1,700 in 2016.

There are several reasons behind why Officials have chosen to break themselves

One is”suicide by fear of sin”. After the crime was discovered, to escape the trial, they had to choose suicide.

The second reason is “make minor sacrifices to safeguard major interests”. The protection of the whole group can be achieved by sacrificing one of them. Also, this can be used to protect the family, the right to take the two harms light.

Thirdly, “depression” is another cause of death. The pressure of the bureaucracy system is huge. If their hearts are not strong enough, the government officials gradually have a mental illness. Of course, there are many “depressed” people.

Also, “be suicided”can be another reason, as his/her accomplices killed the person for fear of leaking more secrets to the public. A few days ago, a video on Twitter showed a man’s body on a balcony has been thrown down. This is due to the fact he/she knows too many secrets. More deaths can be attributed to this factor recently. A recent example was non-official Zhang Shousheng, who was heavily involved in Quantum Computer. His suicided jump was lead by someone behind him and forced him to jump. How can you judge whether it was suicide or murder?

As public eyes appear that Government officials enjoy high quality of life and make easy money. However, if you were on the wrong side, your death will be counted as in minutes. This is a good contrast to the general public, whose life is hard but no life-threatening danger.
