German federal prosecutors arrested and charged a semi-retired think tank head on Tuesday on suspicion of spying for China. The political scientist, identified as Klaus L., at the age of 75, ran the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Munich and later established the Institute for Transnational Studies. German authorities say he was recruited by Chinese intelligence whilst on a lecture trip to Shanghai in 2010.
