The Chinese Communist Party accelerates its push for a home-grown vaccine passport. In addition to actively exporting CCP-made vaccines to nearly 70 countries to compete with Western vaccines, it has recently increased the number of “visa facilities” for foreigners who choose CCP-made vaccines. The move is a real incentive for business people who must travel frequently to and from China, but it has also put some business people in the dilemma of “money or life”.

As of Friday, April 16, the American Chamber of Commerce and the European Union Chamber of Commerce have helped arrange for hundreds of members to receive free vaccinations at Beijing United Family Healthcare for vaccines made in China, including vaccines made by Sinopharm and Sinovac.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said it offered three doses of the vaccine this week, with a total of at least 300 people completing the vaccination, and will continue to offer new doses in the future as needed. The European Union Chamber of Commerce offers a similar service, but does not count the number of people vaccinated.

CCP launched the free registration of foreigners for CCP-made vaccines in Beijing and Shanghai at the end of March. In addition, the Taiwan Affairs Office also announced on Wednesday (April 14) that Taiwan residents in China will be able to register for vaccinations at their place of residence with a residence permit or a certificate of enrollment in Chinese medical insurance.

The announcement comes on the heels of an announcement by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs that it will begin further “visa facilitation” for foreigners who receive CCP-made vaccines as of March 15.
