The Chinese Communist Party’s publicity stunt #1: build a new hospital with 1300 beds for a 100K outbreak

Wuhan, the epicenter of the new coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, plans to build another 1,300-bed hospital to receive patients to ease the shortage of beds in the city, the local government said on Saturday afternoon.

The new hospital, named Leishenshan Hospital, will be the second hospital in the city to receive patients infected with the new virus. The construction is expected to be completed in 15 days, the People’s Daily reported online.

Local government announced earlier this week that it would build a 1,000-bed mobile hospital, with a floor area of 25,000 square meters, for designated patients before Feb 3.

With a widely believed “unofficial” infection case of 100K, a hospital this size might be too small too late.

Facts: Existing resources are depleted

Building a hospital in Wuhan is merely a publicity stunt by the Chinese Communist Party to show that it is doing something, because it is not even providing enough doctors or supplies to the existing hospitals.

The local doctors in Wuhan were over-worked and many got infected themselves. There is a shortage of doctors, medical supplies and protective gear.

The pictures above show that local doctors were only having instant noodles without decent food.

The pictures above taken by Wuhan doctors show that they had to make facial covers out of sheet protectors.

The doctors also ran out of masks. One doctor said on social media that he or she had been using the same mask for a week.

The Chinese Communist Party’s publicity stunt #2: deploying military doctors to Wuhan

The Chinese official published videos of military doctors being deployed to Wuhan to make people outside of Wuhan believe that the government was doing everything they could to contain the outbreak. But there has been no report coming from Wuhan of the whereabouts of these military doctors.

About 450 military medical personnel and eight medical teams arrived in Wuhan, Central China’s Hubei province, on Friday to fight the novel coronavirus pneumonia.

The military medical personnel, among which are 143 from Air Force Medical University in Xi’an, Northwest China’s Shaanxi province, 150 from The Second Military Medical University in Shanghai and 135 from Army Medical University in Chongqing. They and a batch of medical supplies and equipment were sent to Wuhan by the Airborne Force.

The medical personnel have rich experience in the prevention, control and treatment of infectious diseases. Some of them participated in the fight against SARS and helped Africa fight an Ebola outbreak. They will go to Jinyintan Hospital, Hankou Hospital, and Wuchang Hospital in Wuhan on Saturday to carry out medical rescue services.

Medical teams from eight hospitals in South China’s Guangdong province also rushed to Wuhan on Friday night.

According to the National Health Commission, the Chinese mainland has confirmed 1,287 cases of the new coronavirus pneumonia and 41 deaths. Please note that these numbers are fabricated.

There are hospitals for “privileged class” in China like the military and high ranking officials. It is also possible that the newly deployed military doctors are serving the privileged instead of the “commoners”.
