The First Suspected Launch: The Wuhan Military World Games (October 18, 2019 – October 27, 2019)
On June 18, 2020, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi blatantly threatened the U.S. “Do not force us to open Pandora’s box. In 2019, protests in Hong Kong and the Sino-Us trade war were in full swing. Subsequently, the CCP conducted several exercises related to the coronavirus outbreak. On September 1, 2019, Wuhan Customs organized an emergency response drill for an imported Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus; On September 18, 2019, Wuhan Tianhe Airport carried out an actual combat emergency response exercise, which simulated the entire process of handling a new coronavirus infection found in the airport arrivals tunnel (Please note that the official use of the term “novel coronavirus” was after the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, but the CCP already used the term at this stage): It involved multiple links such as an epidemiological investigation, medical investigation, temporary quarantine area setup, quarantine, case transfer and sanitary treatment. The time of the exercise was exactly 30 days before the Wuhan Military World Games.
On October 18, 2019, CCP leader Xi Jinping announced the grand opening of the 7th CISM Military World Games in Wuhan. ] The first group of 17 athletes from the US military arrived in Wuhan in the early morning of October 15, 2019, with 155 more following. During the Military Games, the streets of Wuhan were almost emptied presumably to facilitate athletes’ access to sports venues. The Chinese Communist Party media reported that five American athletes were sent to Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital for treatment because of an imported infectious disease termed “malaria”. The hospital immediately launched an infectious disease emergency plan, and conducted isolation treatment on five patients, effectively controlling the spread of the epidemic.
U.S. military cyclist Maatje Benassi was one of the so-called malaria patients. Benassi had served as a VIP driver for the Supreme Allied Commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Her husband worked in the biological laboratory in Fort Detrick, Maryland, and her brother worked in the CIA. Over the years, the CCP has used Internet hackers to steal a huge amount of personal information of Americans, including, of course, participating U.S. military athletes. Maatje Benassi seems to be the perfect target to frame the U.S. military, which also paved the way for the CCP’s future misinformation campaign regarding the virus origins. George Webb, an American online survey writer, pointed out in his YouTube video that Maatje Benassi was patient 0 in the COVID-19 virus pandemic. After she returned to the United States, she was treated at a local hospital and tested positive for the virus. The CCP took advantage of this to muddy the water and blame the United States as the origin for the COVID-19 virus. Poor Maatje Benassi received a lot of cyber threats, making her life miserable.
On March 16, 2020, the People’s Daily, the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, tweeted that Zhang Dingyu, director of Jinyintan Hospital, stated that five foreign athletes were admitted to the hospital for malaria and were properly diagnosed, and that they had nothing to do with the coronavirus. Malaria is a parasitic disease that is spread by mosquito bites and cannot be transmitted from person to person. Except for the Yunnan region close to Myanmar, there are few cases of malaria in other parts of China, and malaria is extremely rare in the Unites States. The incubation period of malaria is 12 to 30 days. Even if it is a blood transfusion infection, it takes about 7 days to get sick. Benassi lives in Virginia, USA, where it is impossible to contract malaria before her travelling to Wuhan.
In Wuhan, five American soldiers contracted malaria as a cluster, which is suspicious. Zhang Dingdu is probably lying. If so, why did Zhang Dingyu lie that the US soldiers were infected with malaria and not another disease? One possible explanation is that the CCP has long known that the most effective drug for the treatment of the new coronavirus at that time was hydroxychloroquine, an old drug well known for the treatment of malaria. Perhaps giving the American soldiers hydroxychloroquine treatment was to help them recover at least temporarily until their return to the US to avoid revealing the secret of how or with what they got infected. Another reason could have been to verify the therapeutic effect of hydroxychloroquine. If the treatment were effective, it could be claimed that the five US military athletes were suffering from malaria and thus avoid arousing suspicion.
