U.S. Senator Ted Cruz announced today that he and his colleagues have reintroduced a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on Members of Congress. The amendment would limit U.S. senators to two six-year terms and members of the U.S. House of Representatives to three two-year terms.
The bill provides a prescription for solving the long-standing and deep-rooted problems of the “dead wood”, political “oligarchy” and bureaucracy in Congress. But it is expected to encounter great resistance from political elders.
