On January 15, 2021, the White House YouTube channel published a video called BE BEST. Be Best is a platform initiated by First Lady Melania Trump that helps children achieve their fullest potential and also highlights the people and organizations that are doing extraordinary things in our country and around the world. As the first term of President Trump comes to an end, the legacy of Be Best has also come to a close at the White House. As Mrs. First Lady said, “we must continue to give a voice to our nation’s children and the issues that impact their lives.”
My Be Best initiative was inspired by compassion, strength and kindness. These qualities are the fabric of our nation and allow for a place of freedom and opportunity for all. From coast to coast, Americans have an unwavering resolve to help one another and share a common bond in wanting to create a better future for our next generation.
Be Best is a platform that helps children achieve their fullest potential and also highlights the people and organizations that are doing extraordinary things in our country and around the world. The goal of Be Best has been simple: teach youth about the importance of their wellbeing, both mentally and physically. This also includes understanding online safety and the dangers of opioid and drug abuse.
Over the past four years, I have heard from countless medical staff, educators, leaders in technology and many more who have given a voice to these issues and help provide innovative solutions and lifesaving resources. positive examples will inspire others to do their part. I want to thank everyone who has supported Be Best over the past few years. Together, we have raised awareness on opioid abuse and how it impacts the lives of children and families. We helped in reducing the stigma behind addiction and encourage lawmakers to pass legislation that help individuals struggling. We expanded resources to adults and families on how to protect our children online and help them understand their self-worth is not defined by social media. And we gave a voice to some of our most vulnerable children in the foster care system, ensuring that they had the support they needed to get through difficult stages in their life.
I have enjoyed working alongside other world leaders, learning about their solutions and sharing some of the successful programs here at home. But our work is not done. As the legacy of Be Best comes to a close at the White House, we must continue to give a voice to our nation’s children and the issues that impact their lives. It is the values and spirit of the American people that inspired the launch of Be Best, and I know it is those values that will carry on its mission. If we continue to support one another and come together in our communities, schools, government and places of worship, we will ensure all children have the opportunity to achieve the bright future they deserve.
May God bless you all, your families, and God bless the United States of America.
