Can we trust the Lancet to find out the truth of Covid-19?

As the year 2020 approaches its end, the world is still grappling with the pandemic that started at its beginning. Nearly a year into the pandemic, the origin of this virus, called Covid-19, is yet to be found out.

In July 2020, Dr Li-meng Yan, a defector from the Hong Kong virology lab, told the world that the Covid-19 virus is not from nature. Dr Yan appeared on a number of television interview, and published two scientific reports to prove that the virus is man-made, and is intended to be part of an unrestricted biowepon.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) is the primary suspected location where this virus has originated.

In September, top medical journal The Lancet‘s Covid-19 Commission issued a statement at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly stating that “SARS-CoV-2 is a naturally occurring virus rather than the result of laboratory creation and release”.

On November 23th, the Comission announced its 12-member task force to:

focus on analyzing data on all leading theories for origin, documenting outbreak investigation and control efforts, and identifying the benefits of a One Health approach in preventing future pandemics.

The task force is tainted with conflicts of interest

The leader of task force is EcoHealth Alliance’s president Dr Peter Daszak as who organized and signed the February Lancet statement that strongly condemn the lab-origin theory of the virus before doing any research (source). These signatories include Dr Peter Daszak, Dr Gerald Keusch, Dr Hume Field, Dr Sai Kit Lam, Dr Stanley Perlman and Dr Linda Saif who are also in the task force.

Most of the commission members, based on their history of academic and media activities in 2020, have already been spokespersons defending the nature-origin theory and relentlessly attack the lab-origin theory.

Some of the team members have long term collaboration history with the WIV directly or with other scientists who are close associates to the institute.

Dr Malik Peiris, in particular, is one of the scientists alleged to be involved in Chinese bioweapon program, who should be investigated rather than being an investigator.

What’s worse is that some of them were definitely involved in gain-of-function studies with Chinese scientists and virology labs. These scientists are clearly conflicted and are not independent, who are likely to hide the truth of the virus rather than uncovering it.

Dr. Peter Daszak

Dr. Peter Daszak (Chair), President, EcoHealth Alliance (USA)

As we reported previously, Dr Peter Daszak is a long-term collaborator to Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) for coronavirus and gain-of-function studies. Dr Daszak is the president of EcoHealth Alliance, which controls the flow of the NIH’s funding to WIV.

Dr Daszak did not not only study how zoonotic viruses transmit from animals to humans but also the other way around: how to make viruses infectious to humans. Early in June, he boasted his achievements on Twitter.

Dr Daszak is also in the WHO team supposed to investigate the virus origin, and has since become a ubiquitous spokesperson defending the nature-origin theory and condemning any lab-origin theory as conspiracy theories.

Dr. Gerald T. Keusch

Dr. Gerald T. Keusch, Professor of Medicine and International Health, Boston University School of Medicine (USA)

Dr Gerald Keusch is one of the strong voices that opposed the NIH’s termination of a grant supporting research in China on coronaviruses. These research include the one that caused the Covid-19 pandemic, which is studying how coronaviruses from bats can infect humans.

Dr. Danielle Anderson

Dr. Danielle Anderson, Scientific Director of ABSL3 Laboratory, Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore (Australia)

Dr Danielle Anderson is associated with Dr Zheng-Li Shi and Dr Lin-fa Wang (see below) , gaining about 5 authored and 36 co-authored scientific papers on virus research, respectively (source).

Dr Lin-fa Wang was an Honorary Professor of the WIV from 2005 to 2011 and long-term collaborator to the institution

Dr Lin-fa Wang is also a spokesperson in the scientific establishment to condemn those who question the real origin of Sars-CoV-2 as ‘anti-China’, calling it a ‘far-right ideology’ (source).

Dr. Hume Field

Dr. Hume Field, Adjunct Professor, School of Veterinary Science, University of Queensland (Australia)

Similar to Dr Danielle Anderson, Dr Hume Field is also a long-term collaborator with Dr Lin-fa Wang from the time they worked together in Australia. Dr Field is currently working at the EcoHealth Alliance.

Dr. Malik Peiris

Dr. Malik Peiris, Professor of Virology, The University of Hong Kong (China)

Dr Malik Peiris is one of the persons mentioned by whistleblower Dr Li-Meng Yan when she exposed the cover up by the Chinese Communist Party. He is a consultant of the Hong Kong P4 virology lab.

Dr Peiris has a lot of mysterious behaviours, including secretly visiting Wuhan soon after the outbreak in January, keeping a secret stash of virus collection in personal hideout, smuggling West Nile Virus to Hong Kong as well as abruptly resigning and fleeing back to Sri Lanka in May after Dr Yan made it to the US (source).

According to Dr Yan, he is likely involved in the Chinese communists’ bioweapon program, which means the creation of this virus.

Dr. Stanley Perlman

Dr. Stanley Perlman, Professor, Depts of Microbiology and Immunology, and Pediatrics, University of Iowa (USA)

As an editor to the scientific journal PLoS Pathogens, Dr Perlman allowed the publication of a problematic study of pangolin virus (Liu et al. ), which was likely to be used to muddy the waters of truth seeking. This study did not publish or share (upon being asked) raw and/or missing data that would allow experts to independently verify their genomic analyses, according to a report by independent investigation group USRTK.

The same USRTK reports says that “With three other problematic studies, editors at both Nature and PLoS Pathogens, as well as Professor Stanley Perlman, as the editor of Liu et al., have acknowledged in email communications that they are aware of serious issues with these papers and that the journals are investigating them. Yet, they have made no public disclosure of the potential problems with the papers.”

Dr. Linda J. Saif

Dr. Linda J. Saif, Distinguished University Professor, OARDC/The Ohio State University (USA)

Dr Linda Saif signed the Feb Lancet Statement and among the recipients of the emails organizing the February statement.

In an email discussing the the February Lancet statement, she asked via email whether it would be useful “to add just one or 2 statements in support of why nCOV is not a lab generated virus and is naturally occuring? Seems critical to scientifically refute such claims!” Daszak responded, “I think we should probably stick to a broad statement” (source).

So she did just that with her colleagues in the Ohio State University to publish the scientific piece of opinion No credible evidence supporting claims of the laboratory engineering of SARS-CoV-2 in the journal Emerging Microbes & Infections. It was based on the fabricated (by Dr Zheng-li Shi) virus RaTG13 and avoided talking about the primary suspects viruses ZC45/ZXC21 as the backbone of SARS-Cov-2, as suggested by Dr Yan.

The Lancet Covid-19 commission’s statement made conclusion before any investigation

“The origins of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the COVID-19 disease, are yet to be definitively determined, but the evidence to date supports the view that SARS-CoV-2 is a naturally occurring virus rather than the result of laboratory creation and release”, said the Covid-19 commission’s statement.

Scientific evidence the statement cited was the Nature Medicine paper The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2 on Nature Medicine based on the virus RaTG13 published by Dr Zheng-Li Shi. The authenticity of RaTG13 is being widely questioned by the science community, and was debunked by Dr Li-Meng Yan in her two scientific papers (1,2).

So this so-called commission has already pre-judged the outcome before any investigation has been done, just like their Lancet Statement in February. In other words, they have ruled out the possibility of the lab-origin theory and instead focus on hunting the non-exist sources from innocent animals.

Conclusion

We cannot expect the same scientists who have clear conflict of interest, having worked with Chinese scientists and labs over the past years, to have a genuine interest in finding out the truth of Covid-19. They are part of the problem, any investigation they claim to undertake is likely an attempt to cover up and deflect from the truth. These scientists have repeatedly dismiss the lab-origin theory without even investigating.

The only solution to this pandemic is to force China to allow independent international experts to find out exactly what caused the virus and the pandemic. If China refuses, the world should unite to take down the CCP!
