Xinhua News Agency , the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), reported on November 23th that the remaining nine impoverished counties in Guizhou Province had all taken off the label of impoverished counties. So far, all 832 impoverished counties in China have been lifted out of poverty. According to the Xinhua News Agency, China has reduced a total of 98 million poor people since 2013, and lifted all remaining poor people out of poverty in the end of Nov 2020. During the National People’s Congress in May 2020, Premier Li Keqiang declared that there had been 600 million people with an average monthly income of only RMB 1,000 in China. Just after half a year, the CCP announced that China had eradicated all poverty and entered the moderately prosperous society. The CCP successfully made lies to create a miracle. Now let us find the facts to expose the lies of the CCP.
When Xi Jinping started “Targeted Poverty Alleviation” in 2014, the poverty standard was RMB 2,800 yuan/year/person. By 2019, the poverty standard was raised to RMB 3747 yuan/year/person, and in 2020 the poverty standard was RMB 4,000 yuan/year/person. According to this standard, if citizen’s income is higher than 4000 yuan in 2020,the citizen will not be considered as poverty population. Actually the CCP’s poverty standards had seriously deviated from the poverty standards recognized by the international organizations such as UN and World Bank .
In 2018, the World Bank had a special definition of the global poverty standard. A daily living cost of less than US$1.9 was considered extreme poverty; a daily living cost of less than US$2.3 was the poverty standard of low-middle-income countries; a daily living cost of less than US$5.5 was considered medium Poverty standards for upper-income countries. The definition of extreme poverty was a state of extreme lack of basic living materials, including lack of food, drinking water, sanitation facilities, shelter, medical care, education and information.
We use the World Bank’s extreme poverty standard ($1.9 per day for living expenses) and convert into the annualized cost of RMB (1 US dollar = 6.7 RMB), so if the annual living cost per person is less than RMB 4583, it is considered extreme poverty. However, the CCP’s poverty standard is 12.7% lower than the World Bank’s extreme poverty standard. The CCP really believes that Chinese people can eat grass roots . CCP does not care about the living condition of Chinese people. The so-called CCP’s promotion of poverty alleviation for all poor people is just propaganda in favor of the CCP. CCP can just easily lower poverty standards ,so that those people still in poverty will be lifted passively out of poverty.
In fact, according to data from the Bureau of Statistics of the CCP, China’s per capita national income exceeded US$10,000 in 2019, which has reached the income level of an upper-middle country.Using the World Bank’s poverty standards of upper-middle-level country, if the annual living expenses per Chinese people is less than RMB 13,266, people is considered poverty population .As Li Keqiang said 600 million people with an average annual income of no more than RMB 12,000 yuan in China, actually those 600 million people should be considered poverty population in line with the World Bank poverty standards. The current total population of China is 1.398 billion, which means that nearly 42% of Chinese people are still in poverty.
China’s 40 years of reform and opening up has resulted in a doubling of its gross national product. But the Chinese people have not really enjoyed the dividends and well-being of reform. The kind-hearted Chinese people have become the targets of cheap labor and slavery by the CCP. The wealth of the Chinese people’s hard work has been plundered by the top CCP’s leaders and their families. Meanwhile, for its own political interests, the CCP used a lie to tell the world that the CCP has lifted all the poor people out of poverty in China and used this to promote the superiority of the socialist system.
