As the Chinese media reported earlier, the CCP virus vaccines, once developed, will be exported to Brazil for $4. Yet, the CCP charged $150 to its citizens. The 37 fold difference stirred up many questions and protests in China, as the public doubt the underlying intention of the CCP government. Chan Ka Lok, the associate professor of the Hong Kong Baptist University, claimed that the pricing of vaccines reflected the priority of the CCP government. “They care only about their political status internationally,” Chan said, “the voices of their people are never their concern.” Chan points out that it would be naïve for anyone to think CCP is not using vaccines to compete with the western world.
As the virus originated from Wuhan, China, CCP is afraid a highly-priced vaccine would lead other countries to believe that China is causing secondary harm by profiting off the life-saving vaccines. According to COVAX, an international organization that fosters vaccine development across the globe, developed countries should set a higher price for COVID vaccines, and developing countries should set a lower price. The vaccine will charge $150 per shot. In contrast, Russian and America plans to sell at $20. Opposing voices arose in China, but the government, as usual, showed no intention to address people’s concerns.
