Social Media Becomes Party Propaganda Machine Over Hunter Biden Story

The collective jaws of conservatives and social media critics have hit the floor today following Facebook and Twitter’s censorship of a story published by the New York Post potentially linking former Vice President Joe Biden with Ukrainian and Chinese oligarchs through his son Hunter Biden.

The revelations of the Post’s article include how the elder Biden’s influence in Ukrainian, Russian and Chinese foreign policy got Hunter a position on the board of a Ukrainian oil company despite having zero qualifications for such a position. However, more revealing was the social media giants’ reaction to the story published by one of the nation’s oldest and most reputable news outlets.

Within hours of the story’s publishing, Facebook and Twitter banned all sharing of the link to the article by the Post. Twitter went even further, prohibiting the sharing of the article in its private message function between two users. Even more shockingly, Twitter has temporarily shut down the account of the White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh MacEnany, unless she deletes her retweet of the same story by the Post. Needless to say, this represents an unprecedented manifestation of the social media bias that conservatives have long known about when it comes to social media companies.

Though once thought of as a quasi-anarchistic space where individuals may be liberated and empowered, it is evidence that social media has departed from its disestablishmentarian roots and instead been driven by greed in a collectivist mad power grab in the same vein as Engels and Marx. Indeed, it is no longer ironic to point out that powerful companies once concerned about liberty are now turning to communism as a way to consolidate their power over the political process.
