It was reported on September 25 that the PLA HongKong Garrison had the third quarter sea and air patrols, drilling to simulate the interception of suspicious vessels.
The PLA HongKong Garrison employed helicopters and fleets to patrol and carried out many simulated actual combat drills, including associated rescue, verification and confrontation and so on to verify their capability to perform defense. They also simulated rescue of people falling into the sea, interception of suspicious vessels around Ninepin Group and arrest of suspects.
It was emphasized by the PLA HongKong Garrison that the regulations concerning channels, ports and aviation management must be strictly observed during the patrols, which should also be reported to HongKong SAR in advance.
The People’s Liberation Army HongKong Garrison simulated the interception of suspicious vessels. The drill location seems to be close to the place where the 12 HongKong citizens were intercepted. No wonder that the 12 HongKong citizens were arrested was a practical action after their repeated drills. Ironically, it was claimed by the PLA HongKong Garrison that they strictly conformed to relevant regulations during their drilling process. Yet the perfect co-operation between the Garrison and the HongKong SAR made it unbelievable that the HongKong government was ignorant of the whole event.
Actually, it was very simple to prove whether the China coast guards arrested these HongKong citizens legally or not. The Marine Department only needed to show the Radar record around “One-feet Row” at Ninepin Group on August 23 to prove the activities of the vessels at that time, which was also the request of the families who went to the police headquarters to report previously.
