Nearly three months have passed since the first live episode of the Finance and Current Affairs Workgroup aired on June 18th, 2020. We have produced 14 live episodes as of today. Throughout the past three months, we have witnessed the fast growth of the Whistleblower Movement and GTV.
First, our live stream audiences have significant increased. There were 58,000 people watching our first episode live in June. On August 7th, our 8th episode had a live audience of over 1.16 million people. We were not only thrilled by the exponential growth of our audience, but also the increasing followers of the Whistleblower Movement and the popularity of GTV. The 1.16 million count included VPNs, so the actual number of live audiences was way more than 1.16 million.
As our shows became more popular, we experienced multiple hacks into our live streams. Our data was stolen and sound quality was compromised. There were a few instances that our hosts needed to complete live episodes by talking to a frozen screen. However, our crew faced the attacks with courage and perseverance. The attacks were suspected to come from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The CCP’s attacks revealed their fears and madness. To the opposite to what they had wished, the attacks failed to defeat us and made us stronger and more well-rounded. We are thrilled to have been thriving through difficulties, together with GTV. We feel encouraged to produce shows in high quality for our audiences and contribute to GTV.
Moreover, more and more fellows have come forward to face the CCP through our shows. We started from audio live stream through Discord and evolved into video live stream on GTV. In our fifth episode on July 16th, 2020, our well-known host, 老外妄议天下 turned on camera for the first time. Her appearance significantly increased audience intimacy and advanced our show to the next level. On August 7th, two of our hosts made appearances on our 8th episode and aired a three-people talk show. Two days later, we aired the pilot episode of Tit for Tat, a talk show we had planned for a long time. This show included a lot of Beijing dialects to curse at the CCP with humor and fun. On August 22nd, we launched another new show called Taking Down the CCP – Efforts from the Millennials. It was the first time we presented a six-people talk show, with faces from the young generation of the Whistleblower Movement. These shows received countless of praises. Through GTV, more and more followers of the Whistleblower Movement have been inspired and overcame their hesitation to speak up in front of the camera. The participation of more and more followers also boosted quality of TV programs on GTV. This virtuous circle would bring profound growth to GTV in the near future.
It has been a wonderful journey growing with GTV and all fellows of the Whistleblower Movement in the past three months. It encouraged us to give our 100% every day, to keep discovering and evolving ourselves, to contribute to the collapse of the CCP, and to keep moving closer to our destination – the top of Himalaya, the New Federal State of China with democracy and freedom. We are thankful to the great opportunity to be a part of the Whistleblower Movement through GTV. We appreciate the support from all our fellows and followers. GTV rocks with the contributions from all of us.
