Fang Li played a key role in the cover of the animal origins of the CCP virus, and his article “Structural basis of receptor recognition by SARS-CoV-2” published in Nature on March 30, 2020 reveals the mechanism of how the new coronavirus binds to human cells, elucidating how the new coronavirus bind to human receptors, how they originate from animals, and strategies to combat the virus. This article cites  Zhengli Shi‘s RaTG13 as the proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2, which stands up for RaTG13 and grows the momentum of RaTG13 in the scientific community to cover up the proximal relationship between the Zhoushan bat virus and SARS-CoV-2.

In fact, Wuchun Cao and Fang Li made great contributions to CCP’s research on SARS (outbreak in 2003) and its further understanding of the mechanism of human infection and virus modification.

In 2005, Li published an article in Science, entitled “Structure of SARS Coronavirus Spike Receptor-Binding Domain Complexed with Receptor” in which he prepared a crystal of SARS viral spine protein and ACE2 receptor, and analyzed its structure by X-ray crystal diffraction. The SARS viral spiny protein is slightly concave and fits tightly into the convex ACE2 receptor. The mutation of two amino acids on the S protein of the human SARS virus played an important role in its binding to ACE2, which was the key to the virus triggering the SARS epidemic. According to Li Fang, this research not only reveals the mechanism of interaction between SARS virus and human cells, but also predicts future viral mutations based on the changes in the amino acid sequence of the spine protein. This should establish a theoretical basis for CCP coronavirus transformation.

In 2014, Fang Li identified two key mutations in the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus’s ability to spread from bats to humans, which are sufficient to transform the MERS-like bat virus from being unable to infect human cells to being able to effectively infect human cells. For MERS virus to infect host cells, it first needs to attach a receptor to the surface of the host cell, which is subsequently activated by a host protease that triggers the fusion of virus and host cell. The two mutations in the MERS virus allow this virus to be activated by human proteases and thus play a critical role in the spread of MERS from bats to humans.

A list of selected publications of Li’s can be found at http://www.msi.umn.edu/~lifang/flpublications.html

Either the revelation of the mechanism of human infection by SARS or MERS virus has laid a solid theoretical foundation for further gain of function experiments. By searching for information on Wuchun Cao and Fang Li, we can see their key connections to SARS, and both are key figures in the research and transformation of the virus. The fact that the “Lude Show” was able to name these two people is sufficient to show that Lude, the Whistleblower Movement and the forces behind them had already obtained very deep internal intelligence, and knew very well the entire process of development and manufacture of the virus. What Lude was “holding back” and couldn’t say may suggest that the U.S. action should happen soon.
