Wen Zi Yu, which means someone is imprisoned because of what he/she said or wrote, is one of the harsh and torturous punishments the rulers use to persecute their people. Although it is 21 century now, Wen Zi Yu, which should be long gone in history, is still like a noose in everyone’s throat under CCP’s dictatorship. To tell the truth, means to go to jail; to have a conscience is to get poverty and death. The recent example is Liu Xiaobo, who was sentenced because of his articles and who was died of persecutions.
After 1997, “crimination with words” returned to Hong Kong along with the totalitarianism.
According to French International Radio, the social activist Tan Dezhi was arrested by publishing sedition, which aroused public dissatisfactions. This was the first case that the HK government made arrests under this ordinance since China took HK back.
Tan Dezhi has the right of free speech, which is entitled by laws. Citizens also can have their own independent observation and thoughts. Since Tan Dezhi, who was supported by the public, was imprisoned for his words, where can 7 million Hong Kong people live. Anther example was the teachers were at loss, when the textbooks were revised. According to Duan Media teachers were afraid of being reported anonymously by parents, ordinary citizens, or established organizations. They were afraid of being threatened by the invisible political redlines, which intertwined into a looming web across the classrooms, offices, or even at homes.
The CCP’s totalitarianism has strangled the throats of mainlanders, now of the people in Hong Kong, and it will spread into every corner in the world to track down every person with a conscience. If you do not stand up today, you will never stand up tomorrow. To take down the CCP is everyone’s righteous conscience and to take down the CCP is the most righteous business in the world.
