Europe’s Death Toll Surpasses 2 Million

On May 12th, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that Europe has long been the hardest hit by the COVID-19 (CCP virus) epidemic, with a death toll of more than 2 million people.

According to the Central News Agency, WHO says among the 218,225,294 registered cases in Europe, 2,002,058 people have died; the United States suffering from the world’s worst coronavirus crisis, has death toll eclipsed more than 1 million.  The WHO said in a statement that a devastating milestone has passed as reported, and confirmed COVID-19 (CCP virus) deaths from countries in the WHO European Region have exceeded more than 2 million people.

The WHO European Region encompasses 53 countries which includes some countries in central Asia.
