US College Students Protest COVID Booster Mandates

Translated by: MOS Education Team – Delmont

According to US media reports on January 19, US college students are taking a stand against the growing movement of universities mandating COVID boosters to be considered fully vaccinated.

At George Mason University, over 700 people have signed a “Repeal George Mason University’s Vaccine Booster Mandate” petition, launched by student Robert Fellner. Fellner stated, “it is important to note that not even the CDC claims vaccines cannot stop transmission anymore.”  He added, “so it’s no longer about competing studies over efficacy, it’s just universities making claims without any support,” and “it makes no sense to require students to get a third shot within 45 days.”

At Stanford university, over 1,600 people have signed a petition against the booster mandate, which will take effect at the end of the month.

At Cornell University, nearly 1,000 students, parents, educators, and alumni have signed an open letter against the booster mandate. “The latest scientific research shows that Covid-19 vaccine side effects such as myocarditis, thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, and pericarditis are more common in young people,” the letter states.

Students from the University of Chicago have also joined the fight. Up till the evening of January 18, nearly 300 people have signed the petition demanding to end the mandate. More students have become aware of the serious risks of the Covid vaccines and long-term health problems.
