On January 20, the French National Assembly overwhelmingly passed an Uyghur Resolution, affirming that the CCP committed genocide against the Uyghurs in Xinjiang.
The Central News Agency reported that the French National Assembly overwhelmingly passed the Uyghur Resolution with 169 votes in favor and 1 vote against, identifying and condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s crimes against humanity and genocide.
The resolution states that, based on recorded evidence, the CCP has planned extreme and systematic political violence that constitutes genocide.
Before the vote, French parliamentarians repeatedly invited survivors of Uyghur concentration camps to committee hearings, collected evidence that Uyghur political refugees in France were threatened and harassed by the Chinese Communist Party, and invited experts and scholars to analyze it.
In their speeches in parliament, a number of congressmen emphasized the systematic and large-scale violence taking place in Xinjiang, including Uyghur women’s forced sterilization, resulting in declining birth rates, concentration camps, separation of families, and the destruction of Uyghur religious sites, language and culture, etc. They also believe that France, as a major human rights country, has an obligation to support the oppressed and give them a voice internationally.
So far, The United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, and the New Federal State of China currently identify the Chinese Communist Party as committing genocide against the Uyghur.
