Germany Asks the CCP to Lift Coercive Measures against Lithuania and EU

Translated by: MOS Translation Team – Eleutheria

In a press conference on January 14, German Foreign Ministry spokesman Berger said that Germany and the EU support Lithuania and demand that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) lift all formal and informal coercive measures against Lithuania and the EU internal market.

Lithuania was unreasonably interfered with by the CCP regime because of its decision to establish a Taiwan representative office. The CCP has used unreasonable means to deliberately obstruct the customs clearance procedures for Lithuanian products and EU products containing Lithuanian parts, resulting in a large number of customs jams and piles of these EU exports to China, causing problems for EU manufacturers.

The EU Executive Committee is already examining whether the CCP’s intervention measures are in line with the World Trade Organization (WTO) norms. The EU Executive Commissioner for Trade Dombrovsky said that the EU is collecting evidence and preparing to file a complaint with the WTO for the CCP’s violation of WTO norms.
