Anyang, Henan Province, City Lockdown Due to Omicron Variant

Taiwan media reported on January 11th that due to the continuing spread of the CCP virus epidemic in Communist China, Henan Province has become a new hot spot of the epidemic. On the evening of the 10th local time, Anyang City, Henan Province (with 5 million residents) declared a citywide lockdown. 

It is reported that the Communist China added 110 new local cases on the 10th, including 87 cases in Henan Province. At present, a cumulative total of 84 cases have been confirmed in Anyang City. However, because it contained Omicron variant cases among the confirmed, the authorities immediately declared a city lockdown on the evening of 10th. They suspended all the residents’ flow in the city, and conducted Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) on its entire city population. 

Municipal Department of the Epidemic Prevention Command of Anyang announced that all residents in the city (except for taking the NAAT), to not leave their homes, all motor vehicles in the city are not allowed to go on the road, all supermarkets suspend business activities except only those ensuring the supply of daily necessities, all the rest of production operations and retails and delivery/take-out businesses are suspended.
