DHS Issues Special Relief Benefits for F-1 Students From Hong Kong

Translated by: MOS Buddhism Team – Accelerator

On Nov. 24, 2021, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a notice that provides Special Student Relief (SSR) employment benefits for F-1 nonimmigrant students from Hong Kong

The favorable terms include allowing increased working hours on campus and reduced course loads while still maintaining nonimmigrant student status. The SSR notice will take effect starting November 24, 2021 through February 5, 2023. In the backdrop of the ever-escalating pressure caused by the Communist regime, this for sure is a welcome relief for the young students from the once-democratic-region, aka, the Pearl of East.
