On Nov. 17th, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework could be launched early next year. The United States will not join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement on Trans-Pacific Partnership, but it will seek like-minded countries in the Indo-Pacific region to establish an economic framework that is broader and freer than traditional free trade agreements.
