Pfizer Allows Generic Manufacturer to Test COVID Drug in Countries

Translated by: MOS Translation Group – Snorlax

On November 16, Pfizer Inc. said it would allow generic manufacturers to make its experimental new Covid treatment available to 95 low- and middle-income countries through a licensing agreement with international public health group Medicines Patent Pool (MPP), which is expected to cover about 53 percent of the global population, according to related media reports.

Under the agreement, Pfizer allows the UN-supported agency to license qualified generic drug manufacturers to produce their own versions of COVID drugs, while Pfizer will sell the related drugs produced by these drug manufacturers under the brand name Paxlovid.

In response, Medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres said the deal was “disheartened.” Earlier, Miles Guo also said in one of Grand Live that the Covid oral drugs are worse than the current Covid vaccines. We must stay away from such oral drugs.
