On November 12, the U.S. Secretary of State Antony John Blinken called with the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, urging Beijing to resolve cross-Strait differences peacefully through meaningful dialogue based on the wishes and interests of the Taiwanese.
In the call, Blinken stressed the long-term United States interests for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and expressed deep concern about Communist China’s continual military, diplomatic and economic pressure on Taiwan.
The representative of Taiwan to the U.S., Hsiao Mei-chin, said Japan and several European countries have expressed their willingness to assist Taiwan in its most difficult moment. Taiwan’s performance has been recognized as a force for good in the world.
In the past year, there have been nearly 40 proposals related to Taiwan from the U.S. Congress, reaching a record high. It indicates that all sectors of the U.S. community deeply care about a wide range of aspects in Taiwan and are very supportive of Taiwan.
