Broadcast|Price of Aviation Fuel Rises in China, Causing the Return of Fuel Surcharges for Air Tickets

By: MOS Fitness Team – Wenqiu

On October 30, Lucky Air and Ruili Airlines successively issued notices to resume the levy of aviation fuel surcharges. In 2015, the National Development and Reform Commission of China (NDRC) raised the fuel surcharge standard from 4140 yuan per ton to 5000 yuan per ton. At the beginning of 2019, the domestic price of aviation fuel fell below 5,000 yuan per ton, and the fuel surcharge was completely canceled.

In 2020, the CCP virus epidemic has caused the global economy to be sluggish, and with energy shortages and the rise in international commodity prices, fuel prices have soared. In July, the Chinese Communist Party declared a tax on imports. The CIF price of jet kerosene reached 3,926 yuan per ton, an increase of about 70% compared to July 2020. Today, it exceeds 5,000 yuan per ton.

According to analysis, the return of fuel surcharges reflects the CCP’s shortage of foreign exchange and an increasing energy gap. The supply of coal, fuel, and other energy sources is already in a severe situation.
