According to a report by The Daily Wire on October 15th, 2021, the Italian government requires that all workers must show a “green pass” before they can work, and the so-called “Green Pass” vaccine mandate took effect on Friday (Oct.15th), which has triggered protests in many cities around Italy, including major ports.

The Italian government approved the country’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, one of the strictest in the world, which means that all workers in the public sectors or related departments must show proof that they are either fully vaccinated, tested negative, or recovered from COVID-19 within the past six months.

Employees who go to work without a pass may face fines of 600 to 1,500 euros and suspension of pay, and if employers allow employees to work without the pass, they may also face fines of 400 to 1,000 euros.
