Chinese military challenges have increased along the border in the Indian state of Ladakh, Indian Army Chief of Staff Naravane said on September 30. Until a border agreement is reached with the CCP, military standoffs will continue to occur. Since May of last year, the CCP has continued to take provocative military actions in the disputed border area of Ladakh. At present, the CCP controls the Aksai Chin Plateau east of Ladakh, which connects Xinjiang with western Tibet. This region has strategic significance to the CCP.
