German Ministry of Interior Launches Investigation On Chinese-Made Smartphones

Translated by: MOS Finance Team – Leah

Following Lithuanian government’s warning about the information censorship function built into Communist China’s smartphone products, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) under the German Ministry of Interior has also launched an investigation into the same matter. The specific cellphone brands involved are Huawei, Xiaomi and OnePlus.

Previously, Lithuanian government claimed that Xiaomi and Huawei cell phone that were being sold in European market could identify and block keywords such as “Free Tibet”, “Long live Taiwan independence” and “Democracy movement”.

BSI’s investigation also indicates that the European countries have already been on high alert for remote data manipulation and information censorship by the Chinese Communist Party.

The CCP attempts to monitor, repress, and steal information from European people, just like what they are doing to the Chinese people. Such behavior violates human rights, and it is also a huge security threat for Western societies and citizens.
