The People’s Supreme Court of the Communist China has passed laws to implement the “Regulations” favouring its usage of facial recognition technology in handling personal information. This comes into effect on August 1st, 2021.
The Regulations “clarifies” situations where facial recognition can be applied, including those responding to public health related emergencies; protecting the safety of life, health, and property during emergencies; maintaining public security; and reporting and supervising public opinions!
