On July 31 local time, CCP propaganda website photo.cctv.com showed a group of photos depicting a busy harbor in Qingdao, a big coastal city in Shandong province. Under those pictures of huge ships filled with cargo, it said, “Recently, in Qingdao Port located in Shandong Pilot Free Trade Zone, Wanhai Shipping’s US West Coast Line was officially opened. This is the 16th foreign trade route opened by Shandong Port this year. The picture shows the opening of the West Line of Wanhai Shipping”. The title of this group of pictures is “busy port, prosperous trade”.
But is the trade really that prosperous, or is it just another propaganda by CCP in order to deceive Chinese people? The brutal reality is the heavy vehicles used for “One Belt One Road” project are all parked at the ports and in a “limbo” state. The manufacturers have already stopped manufacturing and was just waiting. The heavy vehicles in Chinese are already saturated, and the decline in transportation demand has caused a big drop in vehicle sales. According to the current situation, chances are these manufacturers will not be able to return to normal production level within the foreseeable future and will enter a long-term shutdown period.
