According to official record, December 1, 2019 is the date when the first patient in Wuhan starts to develop symptoms
According to a paper on Lancet, the symptom onset date of the first patient in Wuhan is December 1, 2019. Also, none of his family members developed any symptom of cough or fever.
The WHO report released on February 25, 2020 also shows that the first case has a symptom onset date of December 1, 2019.

According to files released by Judicial Watch (page 195), on March 4, 2020, Zeng Jia, a reporter from Caixin News, wrote an email to NIAID Deputy Director Cliff Lane, who is also a member of the WHO delegate.
In the email, Zeng asked about the discrepancies in the number of cases, between the WHO report and the official numbers release by Wuhan Municipal Health Committee.
In reply to the inquiry, Cliff Lane wrote: “Thank-you for your note. Any information in the report would have been information provided by the authorities in China.”
