Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced two Thursday that would eliminate Anthony Fauci’s salary and ban vaccine passports. Greene is not alone in her criticism of Fauci and vaccine passports.
Other GOP lawmakers have slammed Fauci over what they view as missteps in the early days of the pandemic. And a number of governors have railed against vaccine passports, which could be used to grant access to certain activities, buildings or events.
The lawmaker touted Greene “We Will Not Comply Act” in a news release that called Fauci “Dr. Always Wrong.” That measure would allow people who refuse to wear masks to sue if they have “Benn discriminated against,” and would bar business “from discriminating against a person based on their COVID-19 (The CCP virus) vaccine status.”
Can “Fire Fauci”?
Fauci is a career civil servant, no a political appointee, and his protected by law from political retaliation. If they want to fire Fauci, they would have to claim some kind of performance problem or misconduct.
Dr. Francis Colins, Fauci’s fiercest defenders and Fauci’s boss, director of the National Institutes of Health. Fauci, who was highly regarded as a top HIV/AIDS researcher, was named head of NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in 1984 under President Ronald Reagan.
Even if an administrative law judge agreed that Fauci had acted inappropriately, Fauci could appeal that decision before the Merit Systems Protection Board. But last year on November Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service said that he can fire Fauci. Due to the reason of “Fauci was designated as Federal Employee.
The “Fire Fauci” legislation would cut the doctor’s pay to zero until a replacement is approved. He currently is the top paid federal worker at $434,312.
The reason for his firing, said the package:” Dr. Anthony Fauci with accurate information about the COVID-19 pandemic and has shown distrust in the American private sector and American ingenuity.”
It would also require an audit of his office. “This allows us to see what Dr. Fauci knew, when he knew it, what the NIAID spent money on, and what policy the organization recommended surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak,” said a note to potential cosponsors.
In tackling Fauci, Greene is giving voice to critics who believe his sometimes conflicting pronouncements go too far. Fauci has been wrong about what America should do in response to The CCP virus. The consequences of his flawed recommendations have resulted in misery for millions of Americas. Fauci chose to recommend, and actively promote in the American Fake News, a one size fits all government response that penalized those who aren’t at significant risk of the CCP virus, but ultimately resulted in more power for government over the American people.
