Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying held a regular press conference On March 25, in order to response to U.S. Secretary of State Blinken’s speech at NATO headquarters.
On March 24, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken said China’s militarization of the South China Sea and its threat to freedom of navigation in the South China Sea. He said: “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is undermining the rules of the international system and American and Western values and is threatening the collective security and prosperity of the United States and Europe.”
Hua Chunying: “The CCP’s principled position on the relevant issue is noticeably clear and we have made it clear on many occasions. Today I just want to stress a few more points.”
“First, the militarization of the South China Sea cannot be blamed on the CCP. CCP is neither the first nor the most active in constructing or deploying necessary weapons on islands and reefs in the South China Sea. …Today, the United States has many overseas military bases around the world, military spending is the largest in the world. The US frequently sends aircraft carriers and strategic bombers into the South China Sea, regularly deploys a number of military aircraft and warships, and even conducts activities in the South China Sea hundreds of times pretending to be the address code of other countries’ civil aircraft. …In addition, the United States has set up several military bases with offensive weapons around the South China Sea. When it comes to militarizing and endangering freedom of navigation, it is the US.”
“Second, no one can accuse Communist China of breaking the rules of the international system. There is only one system in the world, and that is the international system with the United Nations at its core. There is only one set of rules in the world, and that is the basic norms governing international relations with the UN Charter as its purpose. Over the years, the United States has adopted international rules when it is appropriate, abandoned them when it is not, withdrawn from many international organizations and broken many contracts. … Now, imposing sanctions on other sovereign states violates the rules of the international system, and the United States is certainly to blame.”
“Third, China cannot be blamed for undermining American and Western values. The world and civilizations are diverse. The total population of the US and its several Allies is only about 10% of the world’s population, and other vast developing countries… American values are not equal to international values, and American democracy is by no means equal to universal democracy. … As the most developed and richest country in the world, how can it disregard the right to life of its people and allow more than half a million people to lose their precious lives in less than a year and do nothing?”
Then, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying held a regular press conference On March 26.
She commented on some events held in Serbia on Wednesday to commemorate the victims of NATO’s bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia(FRY）22 years ago.
Hua Chunying: NATO is now in a bit of a fight with CCP. At the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting three days ago, they called CCP a ‘challenge’. …NATO should not forget that in 1999, the US-led NATO, in serious violation of relevant international law and basic norms governing international relations, flagrantly bombed the Yugoslavia, causing the death of many innocent civilians including three Chinese journalists. The dead have passed away, but the living need to be more alert and reflective.
Also, she said: ” A few Western countries, led by the United States, love to talk about our human rights and hold us accountable, then I ask, when they blatantly launched wars against sovereign countries without the Security Council’s authorization, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths and countless families’ breakdown, did they ever care about the human rights of the people in these countries? Is this what they call international rules? Shouldn’t they be held accountable for their acts of war? The world today should not be whose arm is thick who call the shots, and the days of bullying has gone.”
As Western countries toughness and confrontation with the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide against the Uighur heats up, the Chinese Foreign Ministry adopts tougher Wolf Warrior Diplomacy strategy. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying played the role of a sheep in Wolf’s clothing in her last two regular press conferences. Her words and actions revel CCP’s Evil Nature.
First, the CCP’s Rogue logic: Always make the right rules of the game to put itself in an advantageous position. On the South China Sea issue, the CCP has broken its promise not to promote militarization in the South China Sea. Instead, the CCP has aggressively expanded its military presence in the South China Sea. When the US found out and pointed out this shameless behavior of the CCP, the CCP took the initiative to stir up the situation in the South China Sea. It said CCP’s work on the islands was in self-defence and accused critics of trying to “make a mountain out of a molehill”.
And, In the FRY bombing event, the CCP’S agents were bombed in the Yugoslavia because they tried to steal the military technology of the United States, but they pretended innocence and tolerance and blamed NATO instead.
Second, Hua Chunying’s words reveal the party’s weaknesses. She never talks about the purpose, progress and legitimacy of the Chinese Communist Party’s militarization of the South China Sea. Instead, she blames the US for its military spending and actions in maintaining the international order. The CCP is always evasive on human rights. Because the CCP’s totalitarian rule is based on human rights abuses, it can only change the subject.
Third, When the CCP is accused of genocide, they accuse the US of selling black slaves; When China is accused of undermining democratic freedoms in Hong Kong and violating the Sino-British Joint Declaration, it accuses other countries of interfering in its internal affairs.
Finally, the CCP trampled on democratic freedoms in Hong Kong, committed genocide and crimes against Uighurs ethnic group in Xinjiang, and provoke a Unrestricted Warfare.
